As a business customer with Sequel.io you can activate SSO between your auth provider and Sequel. Please note this is an extra cost add-on and must be part of your purchased subscription in order to implement.
In this article, we will explain what is needed to turn on Azure AD SSO.
Here are the steps of SSO implementation at high-level:
Follow the steps below to register Sequel as a new app in Azure Active Directory.
Provide client ID, tenant ID, and client secret to your CSM.
Within 2-5 business days, you'll receive notification of setup and your CSM will remove/re-invite your main admin user from Sequel dashboard.
IMPORTANT: Once invited, user must go through the invite email and choose "Already have a login" option in order to activate the SSO flow and enter back into Sequel.
When this is confirmed for the first user, all other users can be removed/re-invited and go through the same process. That's it!
Now that you have the big picture, let's dive into setup!
1. Azure AD Domain
You’ll need to provide your Azure AD tenant information.
Sign in to the Azure portal with your administrator account.
Go to Azure Active Directory > Overview.
Your Primary Domain is listed here.
More details can be found here: Find your Microsoft Entra tenant ID and primary domain.
2. Azure AD Application (Client ID and Client Secret)
To connect Sequel with Azure AD, you’ll need to register a new app integration.
In the Azure portal, go to Azure Active Directory > App registrations.
Click New registration to create a new app for Sequel.
Name:
Sequel.ioSupported account types: Select the option that fits your organization.
Redirect URI (web):
https://introvoke.auth0.com/login/callback
https://login.introvoke.com/login/callback
After registration, go to the Overview tab to copy the Application (client) ID.
Next, go to Certificates & secrets > Client secrets and create a new client secret. Copy the generated value (you’ll only see it once).
Lastly, ensure that the "Home Page URL" field under "Branding & Properties" is set to the below so that accessing from Active Directory routes back to Sequel:
https://admin.sequel.io/company/
3. Application Properties (Entra Tenant ID)
Once the application is setup above, navigate to Overview > Properties within AD
and copy the "Tenant ID." You'll provide this with the above info for SSO implementation.
More details can be found here: Quickstart: Register an application in Microsoft Entra ID.
These values are what you’ll need to share with Sequel and what will be entered into our system to enable SSO. Please double check these values as they can cause delays and issues.
3. Turn on SSO
Once you have the Primary domain, Entra Tenant ID, Client ID, and Client Secret, please reach out to your CSM and they'll work with our technical team to implement this for you!
