Setup Webflow 1-Click CMS Integration

Learn how to connect Sequel to your Webflow site to enable automatic syncing of event data to your Webflow CMS collections.

Updated today

Welcome

This guide walks you through connecting Sequel to your Webflow site using our native Webflow integration. Once set up, any event you create, update, or delete in Sequel will automatically sync to your Webflow CMS - no manual updates needed.

Before You Begin: Prepare Your Webflow CMS

Before connecting Sequel to Webflow, you'll need to set up your CMS collection on the Webflow side first.

  1. Create a CMS Collection: In Webflow, create or open the CMS collection you want Sequel to sync to (e.g. Webinars, Live Events).

  2. Add a Virtual Stage ID field*: Inside the collection, add a plain text field for the Virtual Stage ID.
*This is required - it's what Sequel uses to inject the event ID and render the correct embed on your page.
Example of the fields you can have:

  3. Add the Sequel embed script to your template: In the Webflow Designer, open the collection template page and add an HTML embed element.
Insert the Sequel script with the dynamic Virtual Stage ID field mapped inside it. This ensures the Sequel player renders correctly on each event page based on the event ID passed into this field.

Tip: We recommend setting up and testing your CMS template before completing the Sequel configuration, so everything is ready to receive synced data.

Connecting Sequel to Webflow

  1. Open the Marketplace: In your Sequel dashboard, navigate to the CMS section and find the Webflow integration.

  2. Click Configure: This opens the Webflow integration settings page.

  3. Authenticate with Webflow: Click Connect to Webflow. A pop-up will appear prompting you to log in with your Webflow credentials and authorize Sequel's access.

  4. Select your site(s): Choose which Webflow site(s) you want Sequel to sync with - you can select a specific site or authorize all of them.

  5. Authorize the app: Click Authorize App. Once complete, you'll see a confirmation that Webflow is connected, along with the Webflow account that was authenticated.

Configuring Webflow Settings & Field Mappings

Once connected, you'll need to tell Sequel which site and CMS collection to sync to, and how to map Sequel event data to your Webflow fields.

  1. Select your site: Choose the specific Webflow site you want to sync events to.

  2. Select your CMS collection: Choose the collection you prepared earlier (e.g. Webinars).

  3. Map your fields: Match Sequel event data to the corresponding fields in your Webflow collection. Available fields include:

    • Virtual Stage ID (required) - Maps the Sequel event ID to your plain text Virtual Stage ID field.

    • Name - The event title.

    • Description - The event description.

    • Start Date - The event start date and time.

    • Event Type - Specify whether the event is a standard event, a series, a summit, etc.

All fields except Virtual Stage ID are optional, but we recommend mapping as many as possible for a complete sync.

  4. Set publish status: Choose whether synced events should be saved as a Draft or published as Live. We recommend Draft so you can review each event before it goes live on your site.

  5. Save your configuration.

Final Steps

Once your configuration is saved, Sequel and Webflow are fully connected. To verify the integration is working, create a new event in Sequel and check your Webflow CMS - the event should appear automatically with the Virtual Stage ID, name, and any other mapped fields populated.
