Using the Sequel MCP Server with Audience and Event Data

The Sequel MCP Server enables you to directly query your event, lead, and account data using natural language for actionable insights. This provides comprehensive audience intelligence and event analytics across AI Platforms.

Sequel's MCP Server gives AI assistants direct access to your Sequel data. You can ask questions in natural language and get answers pulled from your events, leads, accounts, and engagement activity.

The MCP Server originally supported webinar transcripts, allowing you to search and summarize what was said during events. It now includes access to audience intelligence and event data as well.

With the expanded MCP Server, you can:

  • Pull participant lists for any event (virtual or in-person)

  • Search leads by engagement activity, scoring, or time period

  • Get AI-generated lead intelligence summaries, including topics of interest and recommended next steps

  • View detailed lead engagement history (attendance, website activity, chat, polls, Q&A)

  • See the most engaged accounts ranked by activity

  • Access company-level analytics including web views, engagement scores, and trends

If the data exists in your Sequel dashboard, the MCP Server can surface it.

What you can ask

Here are examples of the kinds of questions you can ask once the MCP Server is connected. These are natural language queries. You don't need to use specific syntax.

Event participation

  • "Give me the guest list from our last webinar."

  • "Who attended the Intelligent Website event on May 19th?"

  • "How many people attended out of the total registered?"

  • "Who was rejected from the event?"

  • "Show me the no-shows from last week's webinar."

The MCP Server returns participant lists organized by status: attended, approved, waitlisted, rejected, registered but didn't attend. This works for both virtual and in-person events.

Lead search and scoring

  • "Show me the top leads from the past month."

  • "Which leads have the highest engagement scores?"

  • "Give me leads scored 8 or above from the last two weeks."

The MCP Server queries Sequel's lead scoring and returns contacts ranked by their Sequel Score. You can filter by time period, score threshold, or other criteria.

Lead intelligence

  • "Give me the AI summary for [person's name]."

  • "What topics is [person's name] interested in?"

  • "What are the recommended next steps for [person's name]?"

This pulls the full AI Intelligence profile for a specific contact, including engagement summary, topics of interest, and recommended next steps.

Account-level analytics

  • "Which companies are most engaged?"

  • "Show me the top accounts from this quarter."

  • "Give me company analytics for [company name]."

Returns account-level data including web views, engagement scores, average lead scores, and activity trends.

Cross-referencing with HubSpot

If you also have HubSpot connected as an MCP server in Claude, you can ask questions that span both datasets in the same conversation.

For example:

  • "Show me the top engaged accounts from Sequel, then check which ones have open deals in HubSpot."

  • "Give me leads with a Sequel Score above 8, then cross-reference with HubSpot to filter out existing customers."

  • "Pull the attendee list from last week's webinar, then check their deal stage in HubSpot."

This is useful because Sequel scores engagement regardless of whether someone is a prospect or an existing customer. Cross-referencing with your CRM helps you separate new opportunities from current accounts.

For customer success teams, the unfiltered list is also useful. Seeing which existing customers are actively engaging with webinars and website content can surface expansion opportunities and highlight accounts with strong product adoption.

Tips for getting good results

  • Be specific about time periods. "Top leads from the past month" will return better results than just "top leads."

  • Start with broad questions and narrow from there. Ask for the attendee list first, then ask follow-up questions about specific segments or individuals.

  • Try different phrasings. The AI assistant interprets natural language, so if one question doesn't return what you expect, rewording it often helps.

  • Use the connector alongside other connected tools (HubSpot, Salesforce) for richer cross-system analysis.

Current limitations

The MCP Server currently provides read-only access. You can query and retrieve data from Sequel, but you cannot update records, mark leads, or trigger actions through the MCP Server.

Write capabilities and AI agent actions are planned for a future release.

Availability
