Get Slack Alerts for New Event Registrations

Want your team to know the moment someone registers for your event — without logging into Sequel to check? You can set up an automated alert that posts to a Slack channel every time a new registration comes in.

This is especially useful for high-visibility webinars where sales or marketing wants real-time visibility, or simply to keep your team looped in without manual checking.

How it works

Sequel doesn't have a native Slack integration for this, but you can set it up in a few minutes using Zapier, which connects Sequel's registration events directly to Slack.

What you'll need:

  • A Zapier account (free tier works fine for this)

  • Admin access to the Slack workspace/channel you want alerts sent to

  • Your Sequel account connected in Zapier

Step 1: Create a new Zap
Log into Zapier and click Create Zap.

Step 2: Set up the trigger

  • Search for and select Sequel.io as the trigger app

  • Choose the New Registrant event

  • Connect your Sequel account if you haven't already

  • Test the trigger to confirm Zapier is pulling in registrant data correctly

Step 3: Set up the action

  • Search for and select Slack as the action app

  • Choose the Send Channel Message action

  • Connect your Slack workspace if you haven't already

  • Choose the channel where you want alerts to post

Step 4: Customize your message
Map in the registrant fields from Sequel so the alert is actually useful at a glance:

🎉 New registrant for {{event_name}}!  Name: {{registrant_name}} Email: {{registrant_email}} Registered at: {{registration_time}}

Step 5: Test and turn it on
Run a test to confirm the message posts correctly, then flip the Zap to On.

Tips

  • Different events, different channels: create a separate Zap per event with the channel changed in the action step

  • Keep it lightweight: stick to fields your team actually needs at a glance
