Sharing screen and presentations on a Sequel Virtual Stage

This article will take you through the steps to set-up your permissions to allow screen-sharing for your event

Updated over 2 months ago

When going live on our Virtual Stage it is suggested to use our native slide feature, opposed to screen-share! If you are sharing a Powerpoint or a Google Slide presentation, you can easily download and convert the presentation into a PDF and upload into Sequel via the Media tab. To do so, follow these simple steps:

  1. Navigate to the media tab and select 'Upload Media'.

  2. Choose the file from your system.

  3. Toggle 'Show on Stage' to share Slides with attendees.

Once uploaded, you can easily navigate through your slides using the arrow keys or the thumbnail previews. Each presenter can access the controls so no one has to say, "Next slide, please," or swap competing screen shares!

To end your presentation, click the 'X' button to close the slideshow.

We currently only support the upload of PDF files. If your presentation has animation or GIFs built-in, they will not work once converted to PDF. In this case, please use our screen-share feature.

If you would like to share a browser, application, or have GIFs and animations display in your presentation, you can use our Screen Share option in your control center! Just note, when sharing your screen, we do recommend a second monitor so you can view your content as well as the Virtual Stage at the same time.

When sharing your screen or a presentation, you have the option to select Speaker Layout or PiP Layout. The different is the following:

  • Speaker - Speaker view adds extra focus on whoever is speaking, with the other presenters on the side in the filmstrip. This is also the best layout for sharing your screen with multiple presenters.

  • PiP - PiP, or Picture in Picture, creates a small video overlay of one of the Presenters. This is perfect for single Presenters who are sharing a lot of content.
