Language Translation Overview

Learn how Sequel can offer real-time translation of webinars to reach a broader audience.

Updated over a month ago

In today’s interconnected world, reaching a diverse and global audience is more important than ever. The process couldn’t be simpler—just enable the translations, go live, and our system will automatically translate the content into all the selected languages.

Sequel can support live closed-caption translations in up to 10 languages simultaneously, selected from an extensive list of 100 languages.

Within the live video player, the audience can select the CC button to the right and select any language that you have enabled within a Sequel account. The audience can switch between any language, including disabling them altogether, throughout the duration of the live webinar.

How do I enable translations?

If you have purchased a global language package, share with your Customer Success Manager the languages you would like to enable on your Sequel account. You can enable all of the same languages across all of your Team Spaces, or choose different languages for each space.

The Sequel team will enable the languages on your behalf and send you a confirmation once it is complete! Please provide the Sequel team at least 1 business day to enable language translations on your Sequel account.

Once done, enable Transcription in the event within your Sequel Admin Dashboard. This must be done prior to going live. To learn how to do so, refer to this article.

English is the default live closed captioning language for all webinars hosted on Sequel. For those looking to cater to a broader audience, our language translation feature is available as an add-on to our Business customers.

As of today, live CC translation is only available on live webinars.

What's next?

The Sequel team is working our next step, which is to introduce AI-powered audio translations, starting with on-demand videos.

After your live session is over, Sequel AI will be able to translate the audio into another language, maintaining the original speaker’s tone of voice and even synchronizing the lip movements for a seamless experience. This means your recorded content can be experienced in multiple languages with the same emotional impact and authenticity as the original.
