Different types of chat spaces

The Virtual Stage and Networking Hub have multiple different Chats - each meant for different purposes.

Virtual Stage

The Virtual Stage has two chat spaces β€” Event and Stage chat. Here are the differences:

  • The Event chat is the chat space for the entire event, including your audience.

  • The Stage chat is a private chat space for Hosts and Presenters assigned to that specific Virtual Stage.

Can I disable event chat?

Yes, a Host at any time can disable chat on an event from the Sequel Admin Dashboard or Settings icon within a Virtual Stage (a Host permission). By disabling the chat, you will remove the Event chat from the audience, though will continue to have access to the Stage chat to talk amongst other Hosts and Presenters.

Can I disable chat reactions?

Yes, you can disable chat reactions from any event from the Settings tab of the event in your Sequel Admin Dashboard and/or within the Settings icon within the Virtual Stage (a Host permission).

Networking Hub

  • Hub Chat - this is the main chat for all users within a Networking Hub despite what Circle they may be in (similar to Event Chat)

  • Circle Chat - this is unique to each Circle within a Networking Hub and provides an intimate space for all to engage within the Circle

  • Private Chat - this space allows you to start and manage private chats with any person in attendance of the Networking Hub

All attendees can collapse the chat by selecting the arrow at the top-left hand section of the chat to remove any and all distractions! To clear or delete a message(s) from the Chat, check out this article.
