Cancellation of an event in Sequel removes the event's calendar hold and sends out an email communication of the cancellation to registrants.
Cancelling an event is a simple click.
First, ensure the email template for cancelled event speaks and looks the way you'd like. For Business plans and up, Drag and Drop Email Editor can be used to fully customize the cancellation email.
Second, navigate to the event you wish to cancel and press the "Cancel" button to the right of the event name.
Once an event is cancelled, it cannot be modified or re-opened for registration.
Registrants on the event also cannot engage with the chat and other features.
If you don't see the option to cancel, there are some scenarios where that is by design:
If the event has passed, based on the time/date in event details.
Within the Event Series Settings area, as only sessions can be cancelled, not the umbrella series.
If within an original legacy recurring event (1st one, each instance can be cancelled as its own session but not the entire "series")
If within an outdated user interface.
As a best practice, removing the embed code for the event and providing more information following the cancellation email is recommended.
If you forget, no problem. Sequel displays an "Event has been cancelled" message below the thumbnail and below the Title on the embed component.
