Customize the appearance of an Event

Use custom themes to make your events feel like your brand.

Updated over 2 months ago

Sequel.io allows you to customize the colors, fonts, and core features of the Virtual Stage to create a fully branded experience on your website.

Creating Themes

Themes are the centerpiece of customizing your Sequel.io event. Each theme can have a custom background, brand, and secondary color. Sequel.io also has three presets to get you started: Default, Neutral, and Dark. Choosing one of these presets and updating the brand color is an easy way to start.

Typography

Sequel.io has a collection of fonts to fit your brand. If you don't see one you like, upload your own! Accepted file types include TTF, OTF, EOT, and WOFF files.

Elements

Elements are the individual sections that make up the Virtual Stage. By default, they follow the colors you choose for the overall theme, but you can make some additional changes.

Stage Background

The Stage Background encompasses the entire embedded background with the other elements above it. You can upload an image to add gradients or patterns to the Stage Background.

Video Stream Background

The color that appears around and between the Presenters and shares content on the Virtual Stage.

Chat+ Background

You can upload an image that appears behind the engagement sidebar.

Borders

Allows you to add additional color preferences between the elements.

Core Features

Our core features are the tools that allow you to engage with your audience during the event. These include:

Chat

The number 1 tool for audience engagement during the event.

Chat Reactions

Allows attendees to react to messages in the chat with specific emojis.

Participant List

This has the names for all attendees during the event. You can make this visible to everyone, only Hosts and Presenters, only Hosts, or no one.

Participant Count

The number of live attendees has the same visibility options as the Participant List.

Q&A

This allows attendees to ask questions and upvote popular questions is the Chat+.

Anonymous Q&A

A participant's name is tied to their question by default. If you'd like people to have the option to ask questions anonymously, you can enable Anonymous Q&A.

Moderated Q&A

If you want to approve questions before the audience sees them, you can use Moderated Q&A.

Polls

Enable/disable poll options for this event.

Live Reactions

Allows the attendees to react to the content using a list of emojis. When activate Live Reactions will float up the video player, visible to Hosts, Presenters and Attendees.

You can disable any of these core features to remove them from an event.

Custom Themes for Different Events

The Default theme will automatically be applied to new events, but you can create new themes for events that need unique branding.

  1. Select "Create New Theme"

  2. Name the theme

  3. Update the theme colors, typography, elements, and core features

  4. Select "Save Theme"

Once a theme is created, you can apply it to the event on the Settings tab.
