Welcome to your role as a Presenter on the Virtual Stage! Here are some key points to help you prepare and navigate your experience effectively.
Joining the Event
Access the Event: Use the link provided in your email invitation, reminders, and calendar invite to join the backstage of the event. If you haven't received your invitation, please contact your event host or check your spam folder. Please note, this link is unique to you, so do not share with others!
Setting Up Your Device
Microphone and Camera Access: The first time you enter the Sequel Virtual Stage or Networking Hub, a pop-up will request access to your microphone and camera. Make sure to allow access to both to avoid any audio or video issues on event day. If you encounter problems, refer to our troubleshooting article.
Screen Sharing Permissions: Since all live events are recorded, you need to enable screen recording on your Mac device for screen sharing. Follow our step-by-step guide to adjust your permissions before the event.
Familiarizing Yourself with the Stage
Backstage Access: When you join the event, you’ll be in the backstage area. Here, you can adjust your settings, whether you’re live or not. Don’t worry—while backstage and/or not live, the audience won’t be able to see or hear you!
Engaging with the Audience
Audience Interaction Tools: Use the Chat+ features to engage with the audience, such as answering questions from the Q&A section or sending reactions in the chat. You can also share videos and presentations using the screen share feature, or our by uploading your files into the Media tab!
Communicating with Hosts and Other Presenters
Private Chat Space: As a Presenter, you have access to the 'Stage' chat space, allowing you to communicate with event organizers, moderators, and other Presenters. Use this space for troubleshooting or event cues (e.g., reminders about time left). Prior to going live, you can join Backstage with other Presenters and Hosts to discuss logistics.
Arrive Early
To ensure a smooth experience, we recommend joining the Virtual Stage early. This allows time to address any browser, device, or network issues before your live session begins.
By following these guidelines, you'll be well-prepared for a successful presentation on the Virtual Stage!
