Clicking into the Registration tab of your event allows you to:

  • Limit registrations to Business Emails only (Business plan only)

  • Add Custom Registration Questions (checkbox, multi-select, text display, dropdown, text input, default values, CRM fields)

  • Include Terms of Service & Privacy URLs

  • Enable Cross-Event Registration (for events with multiple virtual stages and instant On-demand)

  • Block domains from accessing event or limit to specific internal domains

  • Limit audience capacity for event and create exclusivity with waitlist.

  • Redirect after registration

  • Edit registration modal title, subtitle, and default fields

  • Require approval for access to event

  • Invite only for exclusive event access

Once a user registers for the event, they will receive an email confirmation (see below) and an automatic calendar hold with the event details, as well as the ability to join the session right away! If your stage is not live at this time, your registrants can choose to join the session to engage in the event Chat, Q&A, and Polls prior to going live.

Registration Options

Sequel's registration options are always growing and allow you to create an smooth entrance for your event while collecting the information you need.

*Block domains toggle also allows for whitelisting domains

Set Registration Capacity for Events

Whether it's to preserve subscription plan limits for audience or to create a truly engaging, exclusive event experience, Sequel registration puts the powers in your hands.

To apply a registration cap for an event, navigate to the "Registration" tab of any event and toggle ON "Set maximum number of registrations." This will open up options for you to customize the experience and set the registration cap.

You can also choose to have a waitlist (and send the associated email) as needed for your event program requirements and audience.

Utilizing this capacity limit with approval flows allows for even more control over who gets access to your amazing content. In this case, the registration cap only counts for approved registrants.

Approval and Invite Only Registration Options

For in-person and virtual events (including event series) choose whether to invite an exclusive list or leave registration open and only approve those that match qualifications.

To utilize this option, make sure your email templates are set the way you'd like them in the main Emails area or specifically in the event, depending on your workflow.

Our defaults work for most but always make sure the copy, branding, etc. matches your needs!

To setup invite or approval options for event,

  1. Navigate to "Registration" tab within event details

  2. Toggle on the "Allow invite emails only" or "Require approval" as you need.

  3. Invite Only

    1. This will open up a new option in the Participants tab for "Inviting" registrants to participate. You can choose to send an invitation where the receiver can accept or say they can't make it. You can also choose to automatically register/approve the list to skip to event access.

  1. Approval only

    1. This will allow for anyone to register but you'll approve them for actual access from Participant tab. You can also customize the message registrants see right away (outside of the emails) as well.

Planning on using a different registration form?

You can also choose third-party registration in order to use other forms (like HubSpot or Marketo, depending on subscription) from the same area. A "No Registration" option is available but not recommended as this will impact actionable data.

Don't forget to add your the URL where you embedded the Sequel iframe before you start collecting registrations. This is the page you're embedding your event on and where the confirmation email and automatic calendar home will send people!

Confirmation Email

All emails, including the confirmation email, can be fully customizable with your own copy and branding through the templates available to you in the Email tab. Learn more about email management.

Add to Calendar

Along with the email confirmation that is sent after event registration, each registrant will automatically receive calendar holds on their calendar. Each registrants will also have the option to add the event to another calendar if they would like.

Email Reminders

Boost your event attendance with Sequel.io Email Reminders. In the Email tab, choose between sending 24 hour, 1 hour & 15 minute reminders. The registration confirmation email cannot be disabled as it requires vital information such as a unique link and join code for each user to access the event.

As you are collecting registrants for your event, you can find them located within the Participants tab within the Event Details in your Sequel Dashboard!

Adding Hosts & Presenters

Hosts and Presenters can manually be added to each event by email under the Participants tab. Once you add a Host and/or Presenter, a Host or Presenter invite email will automatically trigger to those users, as well as an automatic calendar hold. You can customize the template of these emails within the Emails tab of the event.

A recommended best practice is to add your speakers to your rehearsal or dry-run event first. Then, as a follow-up item from a successful dry-run, invite speakers into the real event so they can confirm receipt of email and get settled without worrying about accessing the wrong link. More on dry-runs.
