The Host can promote an Attendee from the audience to a Presenter and to demote a Presenter to the audience in the Virtual Stage.

Updated this week

Promote to an Audience Member to Presenter

This feature allows you to bring an Attendee on stage to ask a question live or share a story without allowing full Presenter permissions during the entirety of the event. At this time, you cannot promote or demote users into our out of the Host role.

  1. Select the Promote to presenter icon to the right of the Attendee that you would like to invite to the stage as a Presenter

  2. A pop-up will show on your screen confirming that you would like to promote this individual to a Presenter on stage. Select Promote user to proceed.

  3. The Attendees will receive a pop-up on their screen sharing that the Host wants to bring them on stage. They have the ability to accept or decline the invite.

  4. Once accepted, the attendee will then be promoted to Presenter, prompted to set up their device settings, and brought into the backstage - ready to enter the main stage!

After sending an invite to bring an audience member to stage, you will see an Invite Pending badge on their name until they accept or decline! You can also cancel the invitation before they respond to it.

Demote to a Presenter to an Attendee

Once a Presenter has completed their time slot or you are ready to send them to the audience - you can demote them to an attendee. To do so, select the ellipsis next on top of their video tile within the backstage, and select Demote.

This will remove the Presenter role and permissions from this user and allow them to remain in the remainder of the event as an Attendee!

Please note, if the user is listed as a Presenter via email in the Sequel Admin Dashboard, they cannot lose their Presenter role through the Demote action.
