Below are scenarios and questions that are more commonly asked.
Can I add a custom URL to the email confirmation and calendar invite for my event? | Yes - and you must! Each registered user will receive a confirmation email and reminder emails with a unique link to join the event on your custom webpage. You will add this URL to The URL where you embedded the Sequel iframe field.

What if a user is already registered, but tries to register again? | They will see a message stating that they are already registered for the event. The registrant can enter their unique join code, or resend their confirmation email to their inbox to access the event. They also can register again using a different email address. |
Can I limit registrations to those that only have business email? | Yes! Our Business plan customers have the option to enable Business Emails only under Sequel Registration. This allows customers to weed out any unqualified leads! |
What if the user selects Join Event from their email but are experiencing issues accessing the event? | The confirmation email also includes a unique Join Code that users can use to join the event. They will select I already have a join code and input their 12-digit join code. |
What if a user cannot find their registration confirmation in their email? | You can resend a user's registration confirmation email within the Participants tab of an event in the Sequel Admin Dashboard. Learn more here. |
Can I send follow-up reminders to people who have registered for an event? | In addition to the confirmation email, Sequel will send 24-hour, 1-hour, and 15-minute reminder email to those registered. You can disable any or all of these emails, as well as customize them, in the Emails tab of your event in the Sequel Admin Dashboard. |
I have added a Presenter to my event within the Sequel Admin Dashboard, however, when they join the even they do not receive the Presenter role. Why? | When you add a Presenter in your event details within your dashboard, you do so manually by email. It is important to ensure they are registered and joining with the same email and that there are no spelling errors in the email you added for them. You can always promote them to Presenter from the People list to ensure a quick fix! |
Can I just send a Presenter a link to join? | Yes! You can add your Presenter's emails to the Participants tab in the Dashboard. Once added, your Presenters will receive a notification email and will be able to join the Virtual Stage with all of the appropriate permissions. |
I have registered for the event, though when I go to join it, it prompts me to register again. How can I access the event? | In this case, you will need to locate the email confirmation or calendar invite from when you registered and enter using the Join button or unique link. If you are using the same device you registered with, you do not need to do this as your user information will be recognized within the event with your device cookies. |
Can I provide a custom message within my email confirmation? | Customers can customize confirmation emails at a company and event level, including the messaging and branding. Learn more here. |
Does Sequel support paid registration? | Nope - at this time we do not offer paid registration or ticketing services. If interested in how to host a paid event with Sequel, check out this article on additional registration options! |
What if I need to change the date/time or URL of my event after people have already registered? | You can change the start time or URL of your event at any time. Once you do, you will be prompted to resend confirmation emails to those who have already registered! This way they will have new confirmation emails with the updated event details. New Registration Options

Can I block people from my event? | With Sequel registration, yes you can! The blocking is based on domain so you'd just enter "someone.com" and anyone using that in their email address for registration will be blocked. You can even set the message you want to show for a blocked registrant. |
Can I add branching logic to registration questions? | Sure can! When you add a new element in registration, you'll find an option to "display only when conditions are met" in the advanced options area. Showing a list of states when a country is shown is a common use case for this so we built it in also. |
Can I send registrants to another page after registration? | Yes! Just toggle on the "redirect after registration" toggle and add in the URL you want to redirect registrants to. |
Can I link to my Terms of Service and Privacy Policies? | Yep! Each of these is a toggle within registration and when turned on, you can link directly to your legal content. |
How can I limit the number of people that can sign up for an event? | You guessed it, another toggle. Toggle "set maximum number of registrants" ON and input the number. You can add in a custom display message when limit is reached but we'll display a default if you don't. |
What happens if I make changes to the registration questions after registration has opened? | It'll be in effect for all future registrants but will not change any past registrations. |
For event series, do I always have to show specific events as an option? | Nope! We got early feedback about the value of only showing "All sessions" as a registration option. So, we built it in (June 2025 Release. |
