You’ve been invited to Host on a Virtual Stage powered by Sequel, and it’s time to get prepared! Whether this is your first webinar or your hundredth, we’re here to help you feel ready and confident to go live. Review the guidelines below to learn more about requirements and best practices:
Hardware Requirements
Laptop or Desktop Computer (required)
Functional Camera and Microphone (built-in or external)
Ensure your device is fully charged and connected to a power source.
Dual Monitor Setup (recommended if you’ll be screen-sharing a browser).
Technical Requirements
Use an updated Chrome or Chromium-based browser, such as Microsoft Edge or Brave. Note: Safari is not supported.
Ensure your Mac OS or Windows OS is up to date.
Have Wi-Fi with at least 10 Mbps upload/download speeds, or use an Ethernet cable (you can test your speed at www.speedtest.net).
Close all unnecessary browsers and tabs before the live event.
Exit any applications like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc., that are not needed for the event.
Technical Checks
(Perform these within the embedded Virtual Stage)
Joining a dry run with the machine and network you plan to use on the day of the event is the best way to discover and prevent issues for your event!
Prepare your Presenters
Presenters will receive a Presenter invite to their email, reminder emails, and a calendar invite — all with their unique link to join the webinar with their Presenter role. If anyone is reporting they cannot find their link or email, you can provide them with their join code. Learn how here.
Presenters will have limited access to the production tools within the Virtual Stage. They can access the backstage, chat, polls, Q&A, and the Media tab to share their slides and videos. Everything else, including stage layouts, overlays, etc. can only be accessed by a Host. If a Presenter wants to launch a poll during their time on stage, only a Host can create the poll and launch it to the audience.
Presenters have a similar prep checklist here! Share with your Presenters to be sure they have the proper set up prior to joining the Virtual Stage.
Prepare your Presenters by creating a dry-run within Sequel for your webinar! Dry-runs are the best way to find any unexpected issues with a person's set up or with the content being shared on stage!
It is nice to send a message to your Presenters letting them know what to expect prior to inviting them into the webinar! Once they have agreed to Presenter, you can send a version of an email below:
"Hi [name],
Thank you for agreeing to present at our webinar, [webinar-name]!
You’ll soon receive an email with the subject line “[You've been invited to present for [webinar-name]]”. Inside, you’ll find a unique link that will give you access to the Virtual Stage. Before the webinar, please take a moment to review the Presenter Guide and Presenter Prep Checklist for the platform we’ll be using.
Looking forward to your session!
Best,
[Your Name]"
